At the Heather Bassett Podiatry Group a gait analysis is an observation and assessment of the way a person walks and how their whole body moves when ambulating.  This can be through visual assessment or can be recorded with our video gait analysis system for further review.  Assessments look at joint range of motions to detect any restrictions which can be corrected or need to be taken into account in any orthotic prescription.

With gait analysis we can determine why a foot wobbles instead of being steady.  We can determine when you have flat feet and why you have flat feet.  We can determine what joints are involved, and why you get pain in your knees, heels or big toe.
