Injection Therapy
At the Heather Bassett Podiatry Clinic we offer Injection Therapy which includes Prolotherapy use of Local Anaesthetics as well as the use of Cortisone.
Injection Therapy is utilised with other Modalities as part of your Treatment Plan and to support this. Rarely is injection Therapy used as an isolated form of Treatment.
Cortisone Injections are used to treat things such as heel pain, arch pain, neuromas, bursitis, tendonitis and ball of foot pain. Cortisone is an anti inflammatory, so reduces inflammation of tendons and nerves. Cortisone Injections are used in addition with other treatments. Cortisone has can have negative side effects so it is important how this is used.
Prolotherapy is the injection of glucose, saline and local anaesethic among other substances. The combination of these solutions promotes healing in an area it is injected. Conditions such as heelpain, arch pain, neuromas/bursitis, Tendonitis and Nerve pain, andball of foot pain can benefit from this treatment.
