The prescription for your foot orthoses will depend on your biomechanics, skeletal structures, employment, sporting and daily activities as well as the footwear that they will be worn in.

These devices are specifically designed to treat the problems of your feet and are engineered precisely to fit each foot.

Each orthoses is unique as a cast is taken of your foot, a prescription is completed and it is then sent to the orthotic lab for manufacture. An orthoses is a timing device that is used to limit excessive load and or range of motion in joints of the lower limb.

Orthotics are like glasses, you can buy them over the counter or you can have them specifically made for you.  Orthotics are used to treat a multitidue of conditions.  Here is a list of some conditions:  flat feet, rolling ankles, heel pain, arch pain, ball of foot pain, ankle, knee, hip and lower back pain, shin splints, neuroma's and arthritic pressure areas.

In addition to prescription orthotics we also have a large variety of pre-made orthotics. Our pre-made devices are designed by podiatrists and offer a more support and control than a device that you can purchase from a pharmacy or shoe store..

We strongly recommend that you do not puchase a device if the supplier does not have the equipment to adjust and alter your orthoses.  Here at Heather Bassett Podiatry Group we have machinery that can adjust your devices as you wear them.
